What started as a small dream of purchasing land in Dutchess County quickly grew into what is now Northaven Farm. Eric brings his business experience—as a successful lighting designer, programmer, partner, and co-founder of Earlybird Visual—to Northaven's operations.
His passion for problem-solving, efficiency, and customer experience has become a cornerstone of the Northaven brand. A native New Yorker who grew up in Carmel, NY, Eric lived in New Rochelle for over a decade after college before founding Northaven Farm and moving to Red Hook in 2022.
With an immense passion for horses and a love of helping others, Kim and Sue Sippel embarked on a new adventure in 2022 when they founded Northaven Farm with Eric. This husband-and-wife team runs and operates Northaven Stables alongside Northaven Pastures, pursuing their family's mission to give animals the space and freedom to express their natural behaviors in their intended environment.
Kim and Sue bring decades of combined experience to support this vision. Sue's background includes a 44-year career in nursing and nurse management, while Kim is a seasoned architect with over 40 years of experience, including 20 years running his own practice.
Cameron’s journey into farming started while on deployment in the Navy, where his curiosity was sparked by learning about alternative farming methods that challenged conventional thinking. This eventually led him to take part in a program called Heroic Food, launching his farming career at a dairy farm. Since then, Cameron has worked and managed several farms in the area, learning from different systems, experimenting with new techniques, and deepening his understanding of animal husbandry.
Originally from Tennessee, he now feels just as at home in New York, and here at Northaven as our farm manager. Drawing from his military background, Cameron applies attention to detail, discipline, and perseverance to building a farm that is both productive and sustainable. He believes that farming is more than just food production; it is about creating a system that honors the life of the animal and contributes to restoring the environment
